Wiimote in the classroom is not only a dream for young players. Many professors are interested in some specific features of the wiimote. Not such as an acquisition device – already described several times here – but as interactive whiteboards to improve teaching.

The Johnny Chung Lee's softwares and videos have given more ideas to the community of teachers and professors.

They wanted to make courses and presentations in a better interactive way. Now they describe on Internet, a so-called e-learning with the wiimote :

- To the United States : WiiLearn Wiki "nintendo wii in the classroom"

The wiiki provides information to connect a wiimote to a PC, a blog and some links to useful applications.

- In France : More than 300 teachers and IT educators from francophone countries have experimented the use of the Wiimote interactive Whiteboard.

The website PRTICE.INFO is very well documented, offers a demontration of the interactive whiteboard TNWii and gives a detailled view of configuration, installation, compatibility of bluetooth dongles and till a guideline to build an IR pen !

In addition, the website gives the reference of every available opensource applications (according to OS and several scripts and programming softwares)

Finally, the last video (extract from M6 french TV) illustrates the teaching with a wiimote. The teacher has more freedom in the classroom during his presentation :

L'utilisation de la wiimote dans une classe n'est pas uniquement un rêve d'élève très joueur. De nombreux chercheurs et professeurs se sont penchés sur les possibilités offertes par la wiimote non seulement comme système d'acquisition de donnée – ce qui a été déjà présenté ici – mais aussi et surtout comme périphérique de présentation rendant les cours plus interactifs.

L'utilisation de la wiimote dans la conception d'un tableau blanc interactif bon marché par Jhonny Lee Chung (Vidéo 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5s5EvhHy7eQ&feature=related)
a donné des idées à des communautés d'éducateurs et de professeurs. En poursuivant l'objectif d'interesser les élèves et de rendre interactif les cours et les présentations numériques, ils se sont regroupés et sont représentés sur internet sur les sites :

Le wiki fournit des informations pour connecter la wiimote au PC, un blog (http://wiilearn.edublogs.org/) et des liens vers des applications

- En France : plus de 300 professeurs et éducateurs des pays francophones et dans les Technologies de l'Information (TICE) ont déjà expérimentés l'utilisation d'un Tableau Numérique Intéractif à partir de la wiimote.

Le site PRTICE.INFO extrêmement bien documenté présente une démonstration du fonctionnement du Tableau Numérique TNWii et tous les détails de l'installation,de la configuration, de la compatibilité des dongle Bluetooth et jusqu'à la fabrication du stylet Infrarouge !

En outre, le site répertorie toutes les solutions open source disponibles sous différents systèmes d'exploitation et aussi sous différents scripts et langages.

Enfin preuve est faite avec cette dernière vidéo, que la wiimote permet une présentation originale et permet au professeur de conserver plus de liberté de déplacement dans la classe au cours de son exposé :
