Abstract

UsimagTool will prepare specific software for the physician to change parameters for filtering and visualization in Ultrasound Medical Imaging in general and in Elastography in particular, being the first software tool for researchers and physicians to compute elastography with integrated algorithms and modular coding capabilities. It will be ready to implement in different ecographic systems. UsimagTool is based on C++, and VTK/ITK functions through a hidden layer, which means that participants may import their own functions and/or use the VTK/ITK functions.

Comment

The wiimote is presented as a multimodal interface for an intuitive manipulation of medical images. For the current release, the integration of the wiimote seems remaining as a prototype, there is no reference or guideline about the integration of wiiuse library (no wiiuse source files/libraries inside zipped files) even if the publication gives us an overview of the use (very interesting to see here).

Abstract

In this paper we present a new multimodal locomotion user interface that enables users to travel through 3D environments displayed in geospatial information systems (GISs), e.g., Google Earth or Microsoft Virtual Earth. When using the proposed interface the geospatial data can be explored
immersively using stereoscopic visualization on a head-mounted display (HMD). When using certain tracking approaches the entire body can be tracked in order to support natural traveling by real walking. Moreover, intuitive devices are provided for both-handed interaction such as gestures to complete the navigation process. We introduce the setup as well as associated interaction concepts.

Abstract

Abstract

Back to basics : Wiimote connection with a computer - applications

[English Version]

After several weeks of development with the wiimote, I would like to "back to basics" and to start a list of contributors who developed and provided these "unusual" and innovative software applications with the Wii Remote from Nintendo.

Of course, thanks to Nintendo ! They developed and provided this innovative remote control.

The data acquisition from the Wiimote is also existing with other applications.

Here, fWIIneur found for you, some other developments and projects which are available on the Internet :

First of all, these applications are available thanks to experimented developers who built a lot of drivers for the Wii Controller and allowed everybody to test their applications, graciously.

Wiimote <-> Linux <-> fWIIne <-> Scilab : The link / Le lien

[english version]

A fWIIne version (release 0.1) for Linux is existing now !

fWIIne was released on WinXP since some weeks, ago. But the project could not really considered as open source and low-cost without a version for Linux.
fWIIne for Linux is a library for Scilab(Scilab is the Matlab-like Open Source Software).
The data from the Wiimote (Nintendo Wii remote) are recorded and displayed on Scilab.
So, the release 0.1 for Linux is available in "download" section @ sourceforge : fwiine-src-bin-linux.zip

The development of fWIIne for Linux was based on :
- Scilab 4.1.2
- Wiiuse 0.9
- Linux(Xandros)
-----------------------------

fWIIne for Linux and for Scilab [Printscreen from Linux Xandros/eee PC]

- Scilab 4.1.2
- Wiiuse 0.9
- Linux (Xandros)
